October 7, Fineko/abc.az. The Neptun Deep field in the Black Sea will be launched in Romania in the near future, informs the press service of the Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel & Energy Complex.

It is particularly noted that this is the largest gas project in the country's history.

Production of the first gas here is expected in the 1st half of 2027, and the field should reach its design capacity by the end of the 3rd quarter. The project is designed for about 8 bcm of gas a year, and recoverable reserves are estimated at nearly 100 bcm.

For Romania, this means an almost 2-fold rise in its own production: the country currently produces close to 9-11 bcm of gas a year.
