October 14, Fineko/abc.az. Electricity production in Azerbaijan for Jan-Sept 2026 totaled 21.19 billion kWh, the Ministry of Energy informs.

In particular, 16.96 million kWh were generated at thermal power plants (TPPs), 2.767 bn kWh at hydroelectric power plants (HPPs), 1.463 billion kWh at other sources, including 768.7 million kWh at wind power plants, 501.5 million kWh at solar power plants, 193.6 million kWh at the Solid Waste Incineration Plant.

Compared with Jan-Sept 2025, electricity generation grew by 352.8 million kWh at HPPs, at wind power plants by 698.4 million kWh, and at the SWIP by 10.2 million kWh. As a whole, electricity production from renewable energy sources, including HPPs, reached 4.23 billion kWh with a rise of 1.05 billion kWh.

Over Jan-Sept 2026, electricity production at Azerenergy totaled 18.233.4 million kWh (at TPPs - 15.434 billion kWh, at HPPs - 2.75 billion kWh, at SPPs - 45.5 million kWh), at independent power plants - 2.957 billion kWh.

Electricity exports totaled 301.6 million kWh and imports - 170.6 million kWh.
