October 12, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Aug 2026, foreigners who visited Azerbaijan spent 1.873 billion manats in the country (15.9%, or 355 million manats, less again the 2025 same term).

The number of inbound tourists in the country also observed decline  - by 7.8% to 1.58 million people.

The main part of the expenses accounted for transportation services (836 million manats), meals (349.4 million manats) and accommodation services (345.5 million manats).

Tourists from Russia (585.3 million manats) and Turkey (202 million manats) spent the most money. At that, expenses of tourists from both countries lowered versus Jan-Aug 2025.

At that, costs of tourists from Israel observed growth by 74.5% up to 108.6 million manats.

The structure of arrivals was dominated by citizens of Russia (27.9%) and Turkey (19.4%). Men make up 66.9% of overall number of visitors and women - 33.1%.

Regionally, the quantity of arrivals from the Persian Gulf countries drops by 33.3%. At that, the number of visitors from the European Union and CIS countries has grown.
