September 29, Fineko/abc.az. According to the State Statistics Committee, for Jan-Jun 2026, Azerbaijani citizens made 12,873 tourist trips to Italy (25.4% more versus Jan-Jun 2025).

Compared to three years ago (4,292 trips), the number of visits grew about 3-fold.

More than 9,200 trips were made for leisure purposes, 3,200 for business purposes, and the rest for other purposes. 54.1% of travelers were women, and the most popular length of stay was 4-7 nights (6,280 trips). Tourism expenses in the Italian direction also increased by 22.3% year-on-year, reaching 22.4 million manats. Most of those funds - 10.5 million manats - accounted for transportation costs, 5 million manats for accommodation, and 4 million manats for meals.
