October 2, Fineko/abc.az. Money transfer system "Zolotaya Korona" has been removed from the registry of payment system operators in both Russia and Kyrgyzstan following European Union sanctions against its operator, RNKO Payment Center.

After losing key corridors including Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus, the company's business volume has contracted sharply.

Analysts note that the cross-border retail payments market is becoming increasingly fragmented. Clients are now prioritizing exchange rates, fees, transfer speed, and route stability over brand names, as banks, niche services, and new fintech channels capture the remaining market share.
