September 30, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, in accordance with the legislation on countering the legalization of dirty money and the financing of terrorism, an important change has been made to the reporting mechanism to the Financial Monitoring Service on electronic money transfers.
According to FMS chairman of board Zaur Fatizade’s decision, new rules for the transfer of information on e-money transfers by financial institutions to the agency will come into force on October 1.
Within the new mechanism, although the limit set for monitoring in the amount of 20,000 manats (or its equivalent in foreign currency) remains unchanged, the principle of its application will differ.
From now on, this indicator will be applied within one calendar year and will apply to each subsequent electronic transfer transaction performed by the client during the year.
At that, the structures responsible for monitoring must provide the Service with information about the final beneficial owners of their existing clients, who are legal entities, until December 31, 2027.
