September 25, Fineko/abc.az. Speaking at the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov stated that Azerbaijan aims to transform transport corridors into private-sector-led economic corridors.

The Minister highlighted that during 2021–2025, real growth in the non-oil and gas sector averaged 6% annually, non-oil industry expanded by 50%, and non-oil exports nearly doubled. While the non-oil and gas sector accounted for 71% of GDP in 2025, it is projected to reach 82% by 2030.

Jabbarov emphasized that integration with Central Asian economies and full membership in the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State provide Azerbaijan-based businesses with direct access to regional and European markets. Highlighting value-added manufacturing in the Alat Free Economic Zone and industrial parks, he also noted that new state support mechanisms compensate up to 70% of transport costs for eligible non-oil exports.
