June 13, Fineko/abc.az. According to the State Border Service, 965,600 foreigners and stateless persons from 179 countries arrived in Azerbaijan for Jan-May 2024, or 35.4% more against Jan-May 2023.

28.8% of the arrivals were citizens of the Russian Federation, 18.2% - Turkey, 9.4% - India, 9.3% - Iran, 4.3% - Georgia, 3.0% - Kazakhstan, 2.5% - Saudi Arabia, 2.4% - Pakistan, 1.7% each - Uzbekistan and the UAE, 1.4% - Ukraine, 1.3% - Turkmenistan, China and Kuwait, 1.2% - Belarus and 12.2% - other countries.

Men made up 69.9% of the arrivals, women - 30.1%.

ABC.AZ reports that compared with Jan-May 2023, the number of arrivals from China grew 2.8-fold, India 2.6-fold times, South Korea 2.2-fold, Kazakhstan 1.8-fold, Philippines 1.8-fold, Spain 1.7-fold, Saudi Arabia 1.7-fold, Tajikistan 1.7-fold, Kyrgyzstan 1.7-fold, Bahrain 1.7-fold, Oman 1.6-fold, Iran 1.5-fold, Turkmenistan by 42.6%, Pakistan by 42.4%, Italy by 42.4%, Kuwait by 41.2%, Yemen by 39.7%, Jordan by 36.0%, Egypt by 33.5 %, Poland by 33.4%, Germany by 25.2 %, Ukraine by 23.3%, Türkiye by 23.1%, Uzbekistan by 23.0%, the Russian Federation by 20.3%, the USA by 19.5%, France by 15.9%, Georgia by 12.4%, and the UAE by 12.0%. Compared with Jan-May 2023, the number of arrivals from the Persian Gulf countries increased 1.5-fold up to 156,300 people, from the EU member states by 31.1% up to 37,900 people, from the CIS countries by 24.0% up to 367,800 people.
